General objectives:

To support the University College as an institution realise its aspirations to be a world class Islamic institution of higher education and offer a balanced education to produce graduates who are able scholars capable of fulfilling the role of scholars of knowledge who work righteous deeds. The diploma program in Tahfiz al-Quran and al-Qira’aat is expected to produce highly knowledgeable Muslim intellectuals and established Islamic practices, particularly in the field of the sciences of the Qur'an, knowledge of al-Qira’aat, knowledge of al-Hadith, strong in faith, skilled in preaching, creative in thinking and well versed in Islamic thought. Graduates will become a future generation of leaders with the skills and desire to play a leading role as educators, preachers, Islamic scholars, managers, administrators and entrepreneurs in accordance with the requirements of national development. This initiative is to meet the challenges of the new millennium to produce a generation that has the strength of knowledge, skills and commitment accurately based on the immutable principles of Islam.

Specific objectives:


1. Offer a balanced education and to produce graduates who are able to serve as intellectual scholars and Muslim professionals who are knowledgeable, and are righteous in conduct.
2. Help develop the knowledge for Muslims to correctly practice their faith of Islam according to the school of Ahl Sunnah Wal Jamaah.
3. To produce highly skilled human intellectuals in the knowledge of reading the Qur'an as well as minimizing ignorance of al-Quran among the Muslim community in this country.
4. Research and consultation for the development of Islamic knowledge and human interests of the ummah.

5. Building a body of knowledge that is based on Islam and the spread of knowledge for the benefit of the community.

6. Using information and communication technology (ICT) and the latest technology in all aspects of teaching, research, consultation, publications and other academic activities.

Learning Outcomes:

At the end of this course, students will:

1.

Know, recognize and practice the reading of the Qur'an accurately through the process of learning talaqqi and mushafahah in order to recite al-Qur’an in an exquisite style venerating the al-Qur’an in order to elevate the mental and physical strength of the academic community and cultivate within students' the knowledge of the Qur'an. To unlock the secrets of al-Qur’an which is limitless and divine as opposed to human thought which is limited.
2.
Understand, analyze, apply, synthesize and evaluate information inherent in the al-Qur'an in addition to studying the styles and implication of the al-Qira’aat al-Shazah (erroneous recitations). Focus will be centred on deriving relevant knowledge to help strengthen, through profound understanding) the immutable teachings in the field of Islamic knowledge learning and memorizing the Quran.

Reading, writing, listening and memorising al-Qur’an in accordance with pure classical Arabic. Courses offer training in classical Arabic in view of it being the main medium of instruction of the programme.
5.
Using standard English and other practical daily soft skills required in the market place in order to endow graduates with a competitive edge while providing the tools to communicate their understanding to English speaking audiences. These skills will be learned through out entrepreneurship courses.
6.
Computer skills and application of information technology in daily work practices. INSANIAH believes that true faith involves the ability to generate, describe and apply the laws and tenets of Islam within its moral framework in accordance with the teachings of al-Quran and al-Sunnah. This is achieved through the application of life skills gained from the integration of learning, curriculum and extra-curricular activities prescribed by INSANIAH.
